# LibTmux.encode_where

- **Module:** LibTmux
- **Package:** LibTmux
- **Language:** Julia
- **Kind:** function
- **Source:** https://github.com/libtmux/libtmux-julia/blob/f3da513be1225d36d5854cd8db5972c01857578e/src/wire.jl#L209

```
encode_where(q::LibTmux.Criterion; entity, limits)
```

## Methods

Return owned inert data in the `libtmux.julia.where` version 1 profile. Field identities come from the explicit field catalog. This is not a TypeScript or Rust envelope. Callbacks and native regex are not portable. Empty Boolean criteria require an explicit entity, such as `entity=:pane`. Integer operands must fit JSON's exact +/-9007199254740991 numeric range.

```julia
encode_where(q::Criterion; entity=nothing, limits=WhereLimits())
```

## Parameters

- `q` (`LibTmux.Criterion`)
- `entity`
  Default: `nothing`.
- `limits` (`WhereLimits`)
  Default: `WhereLimits()`.
