# LibTmux.kill_pane

- **Module:** LibTmux
- **Package:** LibTmux
- **Language:** Julia
- **Kind:** function
- **Source:** https://github.com/libtmux/libtmux-julia/blob/f3da513be1225d36d5854cd8db5972c01857578e/src/operations.jl#L286

```
kill_pane(connection::LibTmux.ControlConnection, target::LibTmux.PaneRef; kwargs...)
kill_pane(server::LibTmux.Server, target::LibTmux.PaneRef; kwargs...)
```

Remove the referenced tmux object and return its `CommandResult`. Identity checks are best effort; `strict=true` refuses execution. Failures after submission may have remote effects and are never retried.

```julia
kill_pane(server, target; timeout=5.0, cancel=nothing, strict=false)
```

## Methods

### `kill_pane(connection::LibTmux.ControlConnection, target::LibTmux.PaneRef; kwargs...)`

[Source](https://github.com/libtmux/libtmux-julia/blob/f3da513be1225d36d5854cd8db5972c01857578e/src/control_topology.jl#L64).

Execute `kill-pane` against an exact ID on the pinned daemon. Return `ControlResult` after the completion fence. Removing the session carrying this connection, its last window, or its last pane may close the connection before the fence; that outcome raises an uncertain-effect error. No retry, reconnect or subprocess fallback occurs.

```julia
kill_pane(connection::ControlConnection, target; kwargs...)
```

### `kill_pane(server::LibTmux.Server, target::LibTmux.PaneRef; kwargs...)`
