# LibTmux.resize_pane

- **Module:** LibTmux
- **Package:** LibTmux
- **Language:** Julia
- **Kind:** function
- **Source:** https://github.com/libtmux/libtmux-julia/blob/f3da513be1225d36d5854cd8db5972c01857578e/src/topology.jl#L92

```
resize_pane(
    connection::LibTmux.ControlConnection,
    target::LibTmux.PaneRef;
    width,
    height,
    kwargs...
)
resize_pane(server::LibTmux.Server, target::LibTmux.PaneRef; width, height, kwargs...)
```

Request absolute dimensions in cells; supply at least one dimension. tmux may constrain pane dimensions to fit adjacent panes. Window resizing selects tmux's manual window-size policy. Return the command result.

```julia
resize_pane(server, target; width=nothing, height=nothing, kwargs...)
```

## Methods

### `resize_pane` (overload 1)

```julia
resize_pane(
    connection::LibTmux.ControlConnection,
    target::LibTmux.PaneRef;
    width,
    height,
    kwargs...
)
```

Request absolute cell dimensions over the pinned connection. Dimension validation and tmux sizing constraints match the subprocess method. Return `ControlResult` after the completion fence; no fallback or replay occurs.

```julia
resize_pane(connection::ControlConnection, target; width=nothing, height=nothing, kwargs...)
```

### `resize_pane(server::LibTmux.Server, target::LibTmux.PaneRef; width, height, kwargs...)`

## Parameters

- `connection` (`LibTmux.ControlConnection`) (for `resize_pane(connection, target, width, height, kwargs)`)
- `target` (`LibTmux.PaneRef`)
- `width`
  Default: `nothing`.
- `height`
  Default: `nothing`.
- `kwargs`
- `server` (`LibTmux.Server`) (for `resize_pane(server, target, width, height, kwargs)`)
