# tmuxtest.WaitForShellReady

- **Module:** tmuxtest
- **Package:** github.com/libtmux/libtmux-go/tmux
- **Language:** Go
- **Kind:** function

```
tmuxtest.WaitForShellReady(ctx: context.Context, t: testing.TB, pane: tmux.Pane)
```

WaitForShellReady blocks until the pane first shows output. With [ServerOptions.FixedShell], that expected first output is the harness prompt and serves as readiness evidence; custom shell startup output may not.

[RunInPane] calls it, and a test building its own pane should too.
