new-pane arrived in tmux 3.7. Unlike a split it places a floating pane, so it carries a position as well as a size.

ActiveBorderStyle property Gets the border style while the pane is active.
Attach property Gets whether the new pane becomes active.
Command property Gets the command the new pane runs.
Empty property Gets whether the pane starts with no command.
Environment property Gets the environment entries set on the new pane.
Height property Gets the pane height in cells.
InactiveBorderStyle property Gets the border style while the pane is not active.
KeepOpen property Gets whether the pane stays after its command exits.
Message property Gets the message shown in the pane.
StartDirectory property Gets the working directory for the new pane.
Style property Gets the pane style.
Target property Gets the window or pane to place against.
ToCommand method Returns a floating-pane request as one tmux command.
